Unicorn Construction are seeking a highly motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor.
Responsible for overseeing the commercial delivery of our secured building projects.
You will be responsible for ensuring that our projects are delivered by a competent experienced team, to the agreed specification and that our projects are delivered on budget, in order to realise our tendered margins.
You will report directly to the Managing Director, but work alongside our Project Support Administrator, and our Project Design Manager, in order to support each of our projects Working Foremen, with the main aspects of our works being undertaken by our own project delivery teams.
You will be required to send out enquiries / obtain quotations / organise pre-let meetings and place subcontract and material orders within timescales to maintain construction program’s, whilst ensuring orders represent best value for money.
You will play a key role in producing monthly progress reports and chairing progress meetings held with our clients/ clients agents and our project delivery teams for all live projects.
You will be expected to produce updated financial performance reports which track the financial performance of all of our live projects on a monthly basis.
You will be expected to provide the commercial support for up to 5 live projects at any time, with a total estimated cumulative project value of circa £3 million per annum. Which would be expected to grow to £5 million per annum with commercial resource assistance.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
You will be expected to have a thorough knowledge of using Microsoft Excel software. Have experience in providing quantity surveying responsibilities from a similar role within previous employment with a minimum of 5 years previous relevant experience.
HNC in Construction / Built Environment or equivalent qualification required as a minimum.
You must have a sound understanding of residential construction methods & techniques with a good understanding of the sequencing of the works necessary in planning the development of our projects.

You must be commercially aware, hard working, work well under pressure whilst ensuring a good eye for detail in the work that you produce, be self motivated and organized.
