The external shell was insulated to a high standard with aluminium powder-coated windows and doors and an external cladding system comprising of a silicone render system over a render carrier board. The external landscaping included Indian sandstone paving hardstandings to the terraces and a resin bound surfacing to the driveway.

The project got underway in January 2020. with the original house being demolished and the completed project handed over in May 2021.

We consider ourselves very fortunate to have a builder who is not only sympathetic to our rather ambitious eco aims and demanding needs but someone who is incredibly diplomatic and can deal with potentially troublesome situations. Phil, and his onsite team have gone beyond the call of duty to ensure that we met the local council’s conditions and deadlines despite horrendous adverse weather conditions. Our chosen site hasn’t been easy to deal with, both in terms of terrain and access. Phil’s team have ensured that demolition, ground works and deliveries have been as painless as possible for everyone concerned. Phil has ensured that what could possibly have been be a terrifying experience for first time new build novices, has been handled well and sensitively.’ – Dr & Mrs Greatorex (Client)
