About This Project

Unicorn Construction were appointed to undertake the complete refurbishment and extensions of the above property. The high specification finishes made this a challenging yet rewarding project to deliver. Meticulous eye to detail was needed to ensure the standard of finish was perfected throughout the build.

During the early stages of this project, it became apparent that the rear south elevation stone wall was riddled with dry rot. We were instructed to completely demolish the south elevation wall, allowing to temporarily prop the roof structure to the entire rear elevation, allowing to rebuild the wall with new insulated cavity blockwork masonry.

The building is heated using ground source heat pumps, there is solar PV on the single storey extension to the rear. The roof coverings were a mixture of concrete tile to match the original roof coverings with a zinc roof covering to the plant room and single storey rear extension. The works and landscaping to the property were completed in September 2018.

“The house is fabulous and we would never have achieved it, if it weren’t for the hard work and assistance given by Unicorn Construction throughout the build.” – Barry Cleaver (Client)
